Infusing Ampersand™ Carrier Oil w/ THC Extracts

PART A

Decarboxylating of Live Rosin Extracts.

(Skip to Part B if you have already have decarboxylated oil.)

What This Does

Decarboxylation activates compounds so live extracts work properly in oral and absorbable formats.

Goal: Full activation with minimal terpene loss.

What You’ll Need

• 5 grams up to 8 grams of live rosin (not included in Ampersand™ kit).

• 1 oz straight-sided glass jar with lid (Amazon) or 4oz Ball Jar (Amazon)

• Digital scale

• Oven

• Dab tool or stir tool

• Ampersand™ Carrier Oil (DIY Kit)

⚠️ Always use glass jars, never plastic or silicone.

Step 1: Weigh Before Heating

1. Weigh empty jar + lid → record

2. Add 5g Fresh Press or Cold Cured Rosin will produce 100mg per gram post decarboxylation. (results may vary slightly)

3. Weigh jar + lid + extract → record
   (This is your starting weight)

4. *To increase doses to 150mg / gram start with 7g of Fresh Press of Cold Cure Rosin.

Step 2: Decarb the Extract

• Preheat oven to 240°F.*

• Place jar in oven with lid tightly on

• Total time: 90 -120 minutes

Every 15 minutes for 90-120min:

• Use heat rated gloves or equivalent

• Remove jar from oven

• “Burp” lid by slightly opening the lid to release carbon, then quickly tighten immediately

• Secure lid

• Weight Check ( Goal = 13% Loss)

• Gently stir or roll jar with lid secure

• Return to oven

Visual cue: Bubbling slows and oil smooths out over time.

* Try experimenting with a 3 step decarboxylation method (240f | 30min : 210f | 30min : 175f | 4 hrs) using the same burping method to preserve better flavor.

Step 3: Confirm Decarb Is Complete

1. Remove jar and let cool slightly

2. Tighten lid and weigh again

✅ Target: ~13% total weight loss

If under 13%, return to oven for 10–15 more minutes and recheck.

✔️ Weight loss = proof of activation

Step 4: Add Ampersand™ Carrier Oil

• While extract is still warm (150°F-200°F) and fluid:

  • Remove insert in Carrier Oil Glass Vial

  • Add pre-measured Ampersand™ Carrier Oil

  • Stir thoroughly (should become less sticky)

  • Secure cap jar

Step 5: Final Blend

• Return jar to oven at 200°F

• Heat for 15 minutes

• Remove jar and lid

• Rapidly stir with dab tool until the oil is not sticky and runs off the tool

• Oil should look smooth and uniform.

Step 6: Cool & Proceed

• Allow oil to cool naturally to room temperature

• Once cooled, it’s ready for adding the Ampersand™ Mix in next stage of this DIY project

PART B:

Turning Ampersand™ Infused Oil into Ampersand™ Powder Matrix

What You’re Making

A smooth, shelf-stable Ampersand™ infused powder designed for easy, accurate dosing.

Final Result

• 28–30 grams total

• 100 mg per gram*

• Dry, uniform powder

• Ready to use with included dosing spoon

• *Use 4.35-4.5 grams of (Decarboxylated) Rosin for 100mg / g.

What You’ll Need

• Decarboxylated oil already infused with Ampersand™ Carrier Oil (room temperature)

• Ampersand™ Easy-Mix Powder (DIY Kit)

• Small glass or stainless steel bowl

• Metal fork (preferred) or small whisk

• Small silicone spatula, spoon, or tool

• Original Ampersand™ Container used for final storage

Step 1: Transfer the Infused Oil

1. Pour all infused oil into the bowl or pyrex glass measuring cups.

2. Allow oil to fully drip out of the jar

3. Set the empty jar aside (do not clean)

Step 2: Prep the Powder

• Gently mix or shake the Ampersand™ powder in its container before use

• Remove the DRICARD Desiccant from the powder. Place in the lid of the container.

• Remove the 1/16th .3ml Dosing Spoon from the powder. Pace in the lid of the container.

Step 3: Recover Remaining Oil from the Jar

1. Add 1 tablespoon of Ampersand™ powder into the empty jar

2. Mix until remaining oil is absorbed

3. Texture should be dry to semi-paste

✔️ This prevents oil loss and improves consistency

Step 4: Combine Everything

• Scrape the powder/oil paste from the jar into the bowl

• Add all remaining Ampersand™ powder into the bowl with the infused oil

Step 5: Mix & Break Down (Most Important Step)

1. Use a metal fork

2. Press powder through the fork openings, smashing it into the oil

3. Fold and press repeatedly

⏱️ Mix for 5–10 minutes.

✔️ Goal: one uniform, dry powder with no wet spots or clumps

Step 6: Final Check

You’re done when the powder is:

• Even in color

• Free-flowing

• Fully dry with no oily patches

Step 7: Store & Dose

1. Transfer finished powder back into the Ampersand™ container.

2. Transfer DRICARD desiccant cards back into the Ampersand™ container.

3. Use the included dosing spoon for accurate measurement.

   Pro Tips

• Mix at room temperature only

• Fork works better than a whisk

• Pressing powder into oil with works better than stirring

• Take your time—consistency matters

RECOMMENDED USES: DO NOT SMOKE OR VAPE

• Dissolve Ampersand™ infused powder tongue and swish around in mouth for 2min BEFORE swallowing for best results.

• Dissolve Ampersand™ infused powder in any 8oz liquid, mix or shake well, drink.

• Add on food or infused into food.
