DJ Pooh is a legendary Los Angeles producer, writer, filmmaker, and creative visionary whose influence reaches across music, film, gaming, comedy, and West Coast culture.

Beginning his career during the formative years of West Coast hip-hop, Pooh developed a reputation as a producer with an unmistakable ear for groove, storytelling, and authenticity. His production history includes work with LL Cool J, Ice Cube, 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, Tha Dogg Pound, and other defining artists of the era, including his celebrated work on Ice Cube’s iconic “It Was a Good Day.”

But music was only the beginning.

Pooh took the same creative instincts he brought to the studio and expanded them into film, becoming the co-writer of the cult classic Friday and later writing and directing projects including 3 Strikes and The Wash. His ability to translate the humor, language, music, and realities of Los Angeles culture to the screen helped create entertainment that felt authentic because it came directly from the culture itself.

His creative footprint eventually expanded into gaming. Pooh served as a co-writer and producer on Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, later contributing as a creative consultant to Grand Theft Auto V and as a co-writer of Grand Theft Auto Online. His work helped bring an authentic West Coast voice, soundtrack, attitude, and cultural perspective into one of entertainment’s most recognizable franchises.
